This is using a straight string with Woe-Van, one I can't remember, I will call it corn chips, and Twile. Not a curved line. A parallel, a vertical a perpendicular, slanted, off center, horizontal and I gurantee no curves. I really tried!
Yep. I don't see any curved lines. I think your tile profited by also including dark negative spaces. For some reason, I thought we weren't allowed to do that or use shading which, trust me, makes for a rather dull tile. Yours works quite well and I agree that the color adds to the overall effect.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and double checked for curves!! :) I need the constructive ideas. You're a colorful artist so you understand I couldn't just have straight lines with no fun!! Had to use some fun color!!
Great job...I especially like the one in the lower right corner, it has a lot of interest! Must have taken awhile to black all of that in! Each time I come to your blog I think about our corgis. Our daughter who just turned 31 this month is visiting this weekend and seeing your corgistudio post has made me look up a picture we took many years ago in the Anza Barrego desert in the spring! I think I'll post it in honor of her coming...thanks for the inspiration.
Always great to hear from a corgi fan! I've been trying to stick to strings to give things structure. Painful for us free spirits but good exercise. I played with some ate ceiling last week. And I had a good time. Uh oh! Another art hobby! Sarah
Nicely balanced tile, and I really like the touch of colour. The tangle you couldn't remember the name of is an official Zentangle tangle called Swarm.
Love your tile and you string looks like Brella to me. It is a unique tile and the touch of color you used works to your advantage on this one. Nicely done!
Nice tile. I like the background color too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words and stopping by! Sarah.

Very nice tile with only straight lines :-) I like your background colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I needed some motivation and using color helps! Sarah.
DeleteWonderfully compatible tangle choices and a nice balance to this piece!
ReplyDeleteThanks for noticing I tried using a perfect straight line string. That was a challenge in of itself. :)
