String Thing #103 7/28/15

I used Mr E and MI 3 in the string. There were some 'big' tangles to squeeze in there this week, at least for me. I'm happy I stuck with the string and the tangles look similar to what they were in the step outs!  I hope!  :). Thanks!
Sarah

Tackle it Tuesday 'F' string

My 'f' string is like a cursive lowercase f.
I used Flux, Flench and Fleurette.
Thanks!  I had a good time!
Sarah

Diane and Carolien's Challenge #17'spv'

I chose Scrumble, Purk and a Neil Burley tangle called Victile. It gave me a run for my money. Thought I'd pick a grid tile and this one was a lot of precision which is not my middle name!  I'm happy with how it turned out. Thanks!!

Joey's Weekly Challenge #71-'Hollibaugh'

Here is something bright for summer. There was only a couple of ways to go.  Either keep to the exact interpretation or spend 3 hours on something crazy. Simple and colorful fit the bill today. :)

Inchie Monday-'Yellow'

I once had a rare form of a dianthus flower commonly called 'pinks' for their frilled edges, and it was yellow. Yellow was the most rare variety of them all. They have since 'melted' as perennials do, but I enjoyed them ever so much while they were there.
Sarah

Diva Challenge #228-nature

I chose some new and old favorites for my ZIA. Clouds, Gumleaves, Arukas, Aquee, Blooming Butter, and SeZ.
Thanks for a fun challenge!

Tangle Me Three #6 'Widgets'

I think I came up with some different interpretations. More of a ZIA, which are a nice relaxing thing to do for me. Widgets is easy to find uses for, that's for sure. Botanically speaking from me. :)
Sarah.

That's New to Me #30 'L and artist'

I picked one of my favorites by Neil Burley called 'LM', and Verve by the artist focus subject. My tiles have been a bit on the larger side you may notice, but I have found while my wrist isn't quite ever going to be right again, drawing on a larger space helps alleviate the pain. Thanks for understanding I hope!  Those 3.5 inch tiles can be torturous with this chronic wrist pain issue. I had lots of fun with the tangles and challenge as always.

Thanks for letting me participate!

Aurora's world- wu-191-wit-op-zwart

White and or on black. It was in Dutch. Always love working with Sakura GellyRolls on dark paper.
For my 'w, a, r, m' tangles
I used: Whiffles, Aquee, Arukas, Rixty, and Mel-Mel.
Thanks!  Very fun!
Sarah.

Two by Tuesday- Rain

I thought of puddles and drizzle and drops. I used the tangles Cloud Pop and SeZ. There's nothing better than sleeping with the rain coming down.  Off to check the weather...
Sarah

DZS swap -' LIEVELINGSPATROONTJES AUGUSTUS

From what it translated to, I gathered that I should make six 3cmx3cm boxes and do a single tangle pattern in each and then tangle natural things around it.
I used N 'Zeppl, Pea Nuckle, Bunzo, seZ, Rixty, and Arukas in the squares.
I used blooming butter, all about v leaves, aura leaf, flower whorl, Florez, clouds, Aquee, and that's it!
Materials used, pencil, colored pencil, micron pen, moonlight pen, glaze pen, soufflé pen metallic silver pen, white GellyRolls, and glitter pen on card stock.
Thank you for a fun challenge although I can't swap with you, I will swap with my mother's friend who lives near me and has not been well. It's color will cheer her up!
Sarah

Tangleation Vocation 'cadent'

Here is a version playing with sizes etc. just micron pens on paper with watercolor.  Always a fun one. :)

Mmm Monday - 'E'

I used Eddyper, Entwine, and Ewah this week. I didn't really use a string since I was playing with various sizes and heights.
Sarah

Diane and Carolien's Challenge 'U, N , I'

I used a 'I' i can't remember by Neil Burley, isochor and Nipa. Used GellyRolls and micron pen, pencil, colored pencil and everything but the kitchen sink. :)
Sarah.

Joey's Challenge 'Girdy'

Mine got wavy and snakey.  Used colored pencil, micron pens, GellyRolls, on ink sprayed background. I've drawn Girdy before so that's why I tried to do something not exactly like the step out. Geometry was never my strong suit. :)
Sarah

Inchie Monday- 'energy'

Pop!

String Thing #102

I used the string!  On a 3.5x3.5 inch tile, on white, with a 01 Sakura black pen and pencil to draw the original lines in. This is a triumph in my tangling history personally. Never thought I could do something that kind of looks like what all of you great artists do seemingly so easily!  Thanks for the challenge Ms. Bruno.  Today I Zentangled! :)

That's new to me 'D and artist '

I picked Decostar by Neil Burley, and I forget what the little circles are called by the artist pick. Neil Burley has great designs. Thanks for the introduction!
Sarah.

Diva challenge -take 2- circus

Hate to not enjoy a challenge when it comes down to it.
Sarah

Tangle me 3-week 5 boomerang

Just played with different shapes and sizes and big and small. A good tangle!

Diva Challenge 227-circus

The cruelty to animals I have seen at the circus comes to mind. Seeing an elephant with a chain around its leg still haunts me. These wild animals, kept in cages, around so much unnatural noise, never allowed to see the sky, hear the birds or feel the sun on their backs as they lay in the grass is a tragedy.  I'm very disappointed in this subject for this week.  :(

Mmm Mondays

As my wrist and hand are in a brace from an accidental twisting, I could only do one 'D' tangle. So I picked a tangle by Neil Burley called Decostar. I'll be back to doing three next week hopefully.
Sarah

String Thing #101

I am drawing with my hand in a wrist brace, so I had to glamorize it up a bit to make up for my shortcomings in accuracy. I enjoyed myself with this challenge so much I didn't notice the pain that much. It was nice!  Loved the tangles, Ms. Bruno's and Rixty. They will get a lot of use!  (Scroll to 3rd picture for finished piece. )
Sarah.
I showed how I limped along for two hours with my bandaged wrist with how I started in my sketchbook to the tile with a string and the finished piece. Hey. I can only get out one tile a day. I'm bored!!

For Mom-Arukas

A little project I framed for my Mom. I'm 38 but still like the little girl who runs home from school with a picture she colored for mom. She has always been my greatest support in many things but always encouraging in my artistic pursuits. She bought me all of my first Zentangle books before I heard of it and bought me supplies to start with. Every tangle has a part of her in it in my heart.
Sarah.

Diane and Carolien's- x g k

I used Gumleaves, Kozy, and X2. Sorry can't type much. Hurt my wrist. :(
Sarah.

Joeys weekly challenge 'Florez'

My wrist is injured and in a brace so my tangles aren't so hot. I made them sparkle though.  Word to the wise, never bend your wrist backwards behind your shoulder to pick something up off the nightstand. You'll end up with 5 fingers going in 5 directions. :(
Sarah

That's New to Me -'W' and artist

I did water lily and wengz. It's not my best work as I'm drawing with a wrist brace from injuring my hand. Might be last tile for a few days. I either give it a break for a week, or have surgery on my wrists. Going to try the wrist brace. Not much for surgery!

Diva Challenge #226

Simple tangles. I just went along from cloud pop to Ansu to Msst and Static and wave. Just went from one idea to next.

Tangle me Three Challenge #4 Ixorus

I did Ixorus in several patterns in different contrast in colors within patterns. Or something like that. :)
A special thank you to Suzanne for the book and tiles from the raffle!  I'm enjoying them a lot. Used the first tile for this challenge. Thanks again, it was a really special and thoughtful!

Wacky Zentangle- Semi colon;

I tried to use it as a string and keep it simple since the background was so busy.
Bales, Arukas, and Munchin.
Sarah.

Diane and Carolien's-'L,Q,D'

For #14 I remember using D-Vine, and Loop something or other and the Q one I have written down somewhere. Anyone who wants to chime in on what tangles I used feel free. Sorry, no prizes folks, but thanks for playing.

String Thing 100- '100'

Used the fun new tangle 100 in celebration of challenge 100!  Just did a study of it rather than get too experimental. I did color and shine it up pretty for the occasion!
Sarah

Tackle it Tuesday-'C' string and tangle

I used a C string and also the tangles Cockles and Mussels, and Cloud Pop.
Sarah.

Two by Tuesday'squirrel'

Here is the little stinker I remember always pilfering the birdfeeder.

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

Mmm Monday Challenge. 'C'

I chose 'cadent '. Yup. I like it even though it's been around forever!  There is 'cloud pop' and 'cockles mussels and Clams'. And Rain on the edge. Thanks for another fun challenge!
Sarah.

Joey's Weekly Challenge #69 'Entwined'

This one (Entwined),seemed daunting at first but as I went through it in my sketchbook it really was logical and made sense. Used a recent one that had a connected feel to it, Blooming Butter. Sakura Gelly Rolls, and colored pencil on black tile.
Sarah.

That's New to Me-'H' and artist.

I chose Blooming Butter from the artist choice and a tangle I think is called Hurry. It looks like it begins with an H on the picture I saved but got a bit cut off. I'm pretty sure it's an H. Please let it be an H!
Sarah.

Inchie Monday-'Yarn'

This was as textile related as I could come close to!  :)
Sarah

Diva Challenge #225 'three colors'

I picked flower tangles ( big surprise, right?). It's more of a ZIA piece but I kept it to yellow and red and the hues that come from them ex. Orange, etc.
used watercolor, colored pencil, pigment pens, and black pen.

Tangle Me Three Challenge #3

This tangle lent itself to all kinds of fun things to do. If I had more paper I would have done more but I quit at 3.5"x3.5".

Diane and Carolien's Challenge. 'Y H A'

I went and tried two that I haven't had much experience with, Hurakan, and Abakus. I put Yuma in because I do like that tangle very much!  Thanks for another fun week!
Sarah

String Thing -#99 'T'

I used all three tangles although at first I grumbled a bit seeing Tripoli on the list. But I thought this is what a challenge is all about. The string was and is always a challenge, so if I can handle those with more confidence now, then onto defeating Tripoli!  And yes, I had an 'a-ha!' moment while doing the tangle. The light bulb in my head went on!  I used reds and blues and off whites and silver in honor of the Fourth of July. Thanks for another great challenge!  Excited for #100!
Sarah

Mm Monday's Challenge 'B'

Use three to five tangles using the letter B. I chose B-Tweed, Blox, Blossoms, and Birch. I had a very nice time. I used watercolor, pencil, colored pencils, pen and Gelly Roll pens. Thanks for letting me participate!
