Diva Challenge 'Zenith' and She's back!

Great that our Diva has returned and looks like she had a full summer. Her return further convinces me mentally we are headed away from summer even though it's supposed to be 85 degrees all week. My mind is moving on past summer.
I don't mind Zenith. I just am not one for perfect and even straight lines. So it went awry. Not in a bad way.
I'm out of Micron's almost so I had to use a dreaded sharpie.   I hate how it seems one can never have enough art supplies. Or money to fund the addiction. :)

Tangle Me 3 challenge- Ionic

I tangled a bunch of these little fun tangles for you Suzy!  I know how dear it is to you. You've done it such justice when I've seen you use it!  Thanks!
Sarah

That's New to Me #35 'X' and artist

I chose popcheff's 'X' tangle as my 'x'. And for the artist I chose a tangle I've been calling Joqual, but is really called 'Jumu '. So I learned a lot today!  :).
I did two versions. Black and gray and colored in with watercolor. I couldn't decide. So here are both:

Block print Hamail stamp

Thought it would be interesting to block print a tangle. I didn't do a full run with a brayer and speedball ink but I have some ideas now.
Sarah

Zendala Dare #106

I'm catching up!  Here is my entry!  Lovely template. I used paradox, Decostar, and Kozy with watercolor and colored pencil. Thanks for a great challenge!
Sarah

Diane and Carolien's-P-I-J

I used Purk, Jonqual, Prestwood Sanibelle and Inapod. I added some color with watercolor. It feels like the seasons are changing even on our tiles as we wait for summer to end.

DZS -'Zentangle Swap' 8/27/15

Here is my entry and I am trading with a friend here near where I live.
I practiced Aquafleur and Narwahl a lot.
I did three because I wanted to try a technique with a glaze pen on the fancy gold paper.  I enjoyed the challenge but am afraid that now my days will be spent trying to make these tangles perfect!!!
Thank you!
Dankjewel!)

I used a big piece of paper and took the time to practice Shattuck, and more with Opus.
See ya!

Tangleation Vocation - 'Opus'

I've heard so much about this tangle and wanted to try it out so I was glad to find this week's challenge offered the opportunity to to just that. Thanks for the great tangle idea!
Sarah

Tackle it Tuesday- 'J'

I used a capital cursive J for my string and Joust and Jonqual. (Not Joncal-or whatever!). It was a fun challenge and I had a great time attempting it!  Thank you!
Sarah

String Thing #107- 'new and not so new'

I used all three patterns this time, Zenith, Ann, and Pixioze. Great tangles to learn and re-try for the week. This was a lot of detail to fit in a small spot!  I think I did ok. I enjoyed using this week's string as well.

Two by Tuesday-Grass

I remember a meadow where I used to drive amongst in the morning at a house I worked at. I took many pictures, but they have been lost in old cell phones and now all I can do is bring you the meadow in my mind with its giant rolls of hay in the morning light as I first turned into the driveway. A bittersweet memory that I love. That 'grass' in the meadow stretching endlessly will live in this girl's memory forever. No cell phone needed.
Sarah

Zendala Dare 101-104 (?)

I'm not sure which is which at this point as I do the Mandalas in phases. So here is a list of what I've done. Thanks for the great challenges!

Tangle Me Three-#10-'Kinetic'

This was a challenge indeed because it was a grid!!!! After some time and thought, I went back to nature. It's something tangled three times over- what it is, I'm not sure...  ZIA!
Sarah

That's New to Me 'P'

Paradox is a tangle I've always been curious about. I've heard a lot of quizzical questions asked on how to get 'it'. So I gave it a whirl. I threw in Prestwood and Purk, Vigne and Bud in for a natural feel. It's a whole layered thing I tried for. The paper I found and weather inspired me.
Thanks Suzy!
Sarah.

Inchie Monday-'pavilion '

My little entry was not easy to conjure up. Good thing Google is around. :)
Sarah

Square One 'Windfarm'

My take on Windfarm. It was sucking up ink so I had to improvise and add a distraction in order to save my Micron's.
Sarah

Joey's Challenge #76-'LinQ'

A fun and free flowing tangle. I tried approaching it from from different angles and creating extra links. Thanks for another great week!
If I don't get to your comments or leave any I've been having to give my wrist a break after feverishly drawing Monday's and Tuesday's and Wednesday's!  I used bigger paper and old Sharpie marker but it causes less pain so I hope that's ok!  :)
Thanks!
Sarah

Diva Challenge- Meditation and Betweed

I listened to meditation 1 and 'Tripoli' kept popping in my head. And then I thought why not intertwine Betweed in there since I was just going with the flow.
Really enjoyed this weeks challenge.
The paper is from a scrap bookers' remnants from a garage sale but it was an unexpected find when I reached into my cabinet so it was meant to be. Go with the flow...
P.S. My wrist has been having good and bad days. So if I don't comment or respond it may be due to giving it a rest. I still look, but by Wednesday I'm a bit burnt out and am in a brace. I still love looking at all of your tiles on your sites!
Thanks.

Auroras Dreamworld 'underwater fairy'

I used the tangles Mussels and Cockels, Sanibelle, Purk, Aura Leaf, Inapod, Star, Aquee and Kozy.
I cut out a copy of a fairy and outlined her and used watercolor on her as the rest of the piece. I glued the fairy into place and finished!  Thank you!

Warm up drawing exercise- its cool-

I found this link for warming up so to speak, your mind if you're stuck or at the beginning and don't know where to start with drawing/tangling. It is honestly a great exercise. Sometimes you might even create your own tangle or two...

Ornation Creation- 'anchor'

Used Sand Swirl, Mr. E, Cloud Pop and that's it. And some classy glitter.

Tangleation Vocation 'Crescent Moon'

This was a good tangle to review and comes in handy for filling up an odd spot.
Thanks!
Sarah

Diane and Carolien's 'U,J,B'

Posting early so I don't lose my tile!  So I used Unyun, B 'Tweed, and Jonqual. Unyun was a new pattern for me I found by Carole Ohl. Not bad for a first try.
Sarah

Tackle it Tuesday-'I'

I used a cursive uppercase I for my string and the tangles Inapod, Ionic, and Indyrella. Looking forward to another fun challenge!  Thanks.
Sarah

String Thing #106 'Bud'

I enjoyed the string and it was able to lean itself to the tangles required really well. Great organic feel with the choices in tangles and a Chinese Fan design deserved a jade green tile. :)

That's New to Me 'U' and artist

I chose a relatively new tangle in general and also new to me- Undu, by Daniel L.
I chose Strata and Scrumble from the artist. Great choices and a fun challenge this week!  Thanks!
Sarah

Tangle Me3-'LinQ'

I took the design from really free flowing to a bit more regimented. It's a great tangle to experiment with!!  SaraH

Joey's Challenge- 'Kozy'

I've always enjoyed this tangle although I'm not sure I expanded much upon it. Anyways, I tried to differentiate the top and bottom ones from each other for the fun of it. Imagination required. :)

Diva Challenge 231-undulating

I decided to try out Sharlerella as it seemed different than some I had seen before. I guess it turned into a mono tangle but it has so many directions to go in I just kept going!  Enjoyed this weeks' challenge!

Ornation Creation 'clock'

It was great to be able to make this clock as crazy as possible. Enjoy the glitter too.
Ha ha ha.

Square One Tangle of the week: 'Jonqal'

It's nice to have some variation from Knightsbridge. Stripes, odd lines, and shading are fun.
Sarah

Magda's Dreamworld 'fairy'

I tried to do the challenge with the best I could have google translate it for me. I hope you enjoy my fairy that sits upon branches, and is surrounded by the tangle 'Vigne' 'Dust Bunny' behind her, and 'Flux' on the left edge. Her bottom of her dress has 'Bales' in it very small. Watercolor, micron and colored pencil on mixed media paper.
Thanks for letting me participate!
Sarah

Diane and Carolien's Challenge NBV

I used N Zeppel, B tweed, and Verve. I posted this one as well as next weeks in a separate post which I will link next week. Didn't want to lose these like last time!!!
Sarah

Diane and Carolien's Challenge 'KAT'

Before I forget here are the tangles used: Arukas, Kozy, and Tizzy. And I didn't lose my tile this time!!! Yay!  Keep the fun challenges coming ladies!  Sarah

Tangleation Vocation- 'Shattuck'

I didn't know how to approach the form of this. It has a lot of structural elements at work in different ways. But I've grown fond of it and enjoyed learning more about Shattuck. Listened to Muse while tangling this. Fantastic and genius band from UK.  Thanks!
Sarah

String Thing #105 8/11/15

The string was a lot of fun. It was indeed a challenge to do Daviso in grid form in rounded strings! I'm happy to have done this one with great new tangles.
Sarah

Tackle it Tuesday 'H'

I used a lowercase H and the patterns Hammail and Huggy Bear. The first I've used before the second was a second try. Had a good time!  Thanks!
Sarah

Diva Challenge #230 'Zendala'

Mine ended up more tangled than transformed into a traditional Zendala. It had big spaces which are sometimes rare so I took advantage of them and put Arukas inside, Verve in the center, Flux on edges, and Footlites on the outer edge.
I had a great time and need to get caught up on my other Zendalas for the Bright Owl!  Thank you!
Sarah

Joeys Weekly Challenge #74 'Jemz'

Good tangle!  I'm not always crazy about grid types but I made a funky simple string and drew my lines big and small.
The tangle being a gem like pattern was needing some color because I think of blue topaz, and tanzanite and blue diamonds and sapphires. Mushnik is a newer pattern on the left.
Sarah

Tangle me 3 Challenge-'Arukas'

I did three types. Upper left is a variation and only has 4 lines. Upper right is drawn in the circular shape and bottom one is regular Arukas. Color added for the fun of it.
Sarah

That's New to Me Challenge 'A' and artist

For this one I did Arc Flower and the artist tangle Stitched. I used Arc Flower as my string kind of. It was good at that point and clean and tidy. Thanks Suzy!

Diane and Carolien's Challenge 'BEZ'

I used Blooming Butter, Ewah, and a new Sue Jacobs tangle for me, Zhostovo Border. Sorry I entered so late but I lost my original. Should have took a picture before cleaning my desk!  It's in a pile of 100 tangled tiles somewhere!  Gave you ladies some color and sparkle too. Thanks!

Tangleation Vocation 'Printemps'

Spring in French. That's Printemps. Wonder why they named it that. Puddles?
Fun to do though!
Sarah

Inchie Monday challenge - window

The bit of a view out one of my windows.
Sarah

Two by Tuesday 'China'

I think the language and lettering of the Chinese language are a tangle and an art form so I found the word for 'tangle' in Chinese, and did my challenge for the week!  So here is 'tangle' in Chinese script.
-just a note, I did not trace or print it. Hand drawn. Must keep our art honest!
