This tangle is beautiful. But I've got a ways to go with getting it to where I'd like it. So I used some tangles inside Citrus.
One on the bottom is just a twist on each piece. Another is the pattern from Tripoli B, and the unmistakable Printemps on the center. I look forward to tangling with this gorgeous tangle in the future.
This one was an awesome idea but I'd write more if I wasn't so tired from drawing. I gotta get horizontal. Six hours... Great guest! I love the techniques shared. A great challenge!
I certainly got the opportunity to search out some new tangles. Used a few apps and such and squeezed them in again!
I must say I'm growing tired of looking for 'X' and 'Q' tangles! Ha ha ha! Those hosting the challenges are trying to push us to do something new is the way I think about it. So here it is. Thanks!
This week's string was great fun. I liked it. I wasn't dreading negotiating all the curves like I used to. It's still not 'perfect' but it's not supposed to be, right? :)
Always love Mel Mel, and Zenith was a good one for curves! Warped Eggs didn't make it, but I did practice and plan on getting it down better! Happy Easter!
Here is my tile with some distress ink color marker with the tangles West Flower, Emile and Dubknot. All new tangles for me to try out which makes this a lot of fun. Thanks!
This was a great string to tangle in! My 'Coil' tangle looks a bit like chewed rawhide by a dog but it's something I'll practice as its a great tangle. As for the grid tangle it was not bad at all! Tried my best with shading, and at the very least was good exercise for my mind! Thanks!
Was really happy to see this tangle to use. I enjoy drawing it and I used Mooka shapes for the long vertical strands. And I added color for spring starting yesterday. Was also inspired by the sky in Laura's post. Thanks!
Here is my string done with 4 Corners. I think it turned out really neat. It's amazing how these strings in Roman numerals lend themselves to making such great tiles. Thanks Joey!
Here is my contribution. A variation of the tangle Pepper, used in the leaves of the clover. I added orange for the third color of the Irish flag, but did you know the official color of Ireland is BLUE! For the sea that surrounds it. Check out my fantastic studio I would have if in Ireland. Have a great Saint Patrick's day!
Sarah
This is where I'd love to have a cottage for a studio in Ireland:
For the numeral three I did all three tangles. They were all made for this string! I had a fun time fitting and drawing things together. Great week again!
This was a lot of funky lines and shapes to negotiate. I liked the geometric rounded shape and went with it.
I'm not the best with lines but they are mine. And that's okay. I'll never be a straight line drawer. That's why we're all here though as I suppose, to show each one of us is unique and our work a pleasure to be shared. I am so tired of the black and white kick I've been on so I added some Tim Holtz Distress Markers for some color. I love how it takes on a life of its own and isn't predictable when sprayed with water. See ya later!
A rounded string would have scared me as much as an angular one before. But by using some great tangles I've learned so much about how things can flow. And most importantly I enjoy doing it! It may not be as technically involved as it could but the fact I was able and allowed myself to create something that made me happy is a wonderful thing. Thanks! Sarah.
